This hand guard is an OEM replacement sourced directly from the manufacturer. It is compatible with over thirty models of Poulan chainsaws. This hand guard will engage the chain brake if pushed forward. It also protects the operator's hand from the chain and bar. This part is made of plastic and should be replaced if it is damaged. It is recommended to wear work gloves while replacing this part.

1 unscrewed saw handle
2 removed bar and chain
3 removed trigger assembly so I could remove saw motor from the handle.
4 removed drive sprocket clip and sprocket drive
5 removed the broken hand guard piece
6 removed a couple screws from opposite side and pulled back plastic enough to install new part, then ... Read more

Removed all covers and all parts described in the video.
Followed steps in the video, then inserted new hand guard.
Followed steps in reverse to put it back together.
Worked exactly as video described.
Would not have figured it out very easily without the video.

I removed the damaged handbrake and installed the new one. Keep in mind, you\'ll have to remove the covers, but it is easy to remove and reinstall them. The hardest part always seems to be getting the bar and chain set and adjusted to the proper tension.

I removed all of the screws on both sides of my saw and removed the broken handguard. Installed the new one. I looked at the instructions that you had on your website and that made it easy to do.
