The chain brake assembly attaches to the bar and the bar mounting plate and is sold individually. If this part becomes broken it will need to be replaced and may require a screwdriver and a wrench during the installation. It is made out of metal and plastic and is designed to stop the chain. Take the old chain brake assembly off by unscrewing the 2 nuts securing it to the chainsaw.
Then place your new assembly in the place of your old assembly then tighten the 2 nuts back on the saw. Make sure the brake is in the unlocked position.
