This part is the replacement fuel cap assembly for your chainsaw. It is made of black plastic and is sold individually. The fuel cap prevents fuel from spilling out of the chainsaw and prevents debris from entering the fuel tank. If the fuel cap is stripped or missing the O-ring, it can cause a leak, and will need to be replaced. To replace the fuel cap simply screw the old one out and screw the new one in, ensuring you have a tight seal. This is an authentic OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer.

Quick Replacement
I didn't realize how bad my old fuel cap had gotten. Apparently it had swelled making it difficult to turn. On top of that, the vent had started leaking fuel. Fifteen seconds and it's ready to use.

Check For The Fuel Cap Hole!!!
I had purchased a "maintenance kit" which included the fuel cap for my chainsaw from an online auction site. After performing the maintenance I could not keep the chainsaw running for long as it kept stalling out. I looked to a video site for help and found info regarding the fuel cap. The fuel cap from the maintenance kit didn't have the vent hole in the top of the cap, luckily I still had the old fuel cap and put that back on the chainsaw. The saw started and ran without stalling at all
I purchased a new replacement fuel cap from ereplacement parts and the new fuel cap came with the proper vent hole. I install it on my chainsaw and it runs without stalling

Old Primer Bulb was cracked and would not pump fuel into the carb
- Removed top cover (to access carb area and allow side panel removal)
- Removed side cover where primer bulb is located
- Remove old snap in primer bulb (without disconnecting fuel lines)
- Cut and replace the 2 fuel lines one at a time (mine were hard and brittle from old fuel)
- The new bulb has

- Installation instructions said to double check the direction of the fuel flow (the bulb sucks fuel through the carb, so the inlet side is connected to the carb and the outlet side goes back to the fuel tank).
With sprocket wrench, take off nuts and sprocket cover. Loosen the tension screw a few turns. Put on gloves and remove bar and chain. Fit new chain into bar slot and slide chain over the clutch and down around the drive gear, as you fit the bar back over the two holding bolts. Check to be sure the chain is on the gear and in the bar slot
... Read more as you pull it tight. Then, holding it in place, put the cover back on over the bolts, If it doesn\'t fit the tension nut into the hole in the bar, you may need to turn the screw with fingers to get it so the tensioner fits in and the cover goes on evenly and snugly, BEFORE you put on the nuts and tighten it down loosely. Check to see if it is in by using a screwdriver to tighten it. It won\'t tighten if the L-nut isn\'t in the bar. Once that works, you may tighten the cover down, but not too tight. Many knuckles have suffered from a slipped wrench on an overtightened cover. Good luck.
My 2003 Poulan 260 Pro chain saw refused to start. I used the ereplacementParts trouble shooting chart that listed by percentage of the time the parts necessary to fix a particular operating problem along with my repair knowledge of small gasoline engines. I did all of the basics first: new spark plug, clean the air filter, use carb c
... Read moreleaner, blow-out the muffler assembly and check for piston scoring (none), and fill with new 92 octane gas. I knew the gas filter and fuel lines were old and had to use pliers on my gas cap to put it on and take it off. I was concerned about air restriction because of the old gas cap. I installed a new gas filter, gas line (use 45 or 90 degree bent needle nose pliers to make your gas line installation easier), and new gas cap. My Poulan 260 started on the first pull and stayed running. Thanks ereplacementParts! Joe O.
Replaced fuel line and other items on chain saws and the parts cost less from here then buying then local. Also looked at youtube. But I will get all my parts from this web site because I like their prices and delivery time.

old cap would not screw on/off easily and finally started leaking after failed attempts to tighten
There is a vent in the fuel cap assembly that was plugged after being exposed to the fuel mixture. The new cap assembly allowed are to flow into the tank as gas mixture was drawn out. Replacement of the cap is easy and self explanatory.
The instructions that came with the bar adjust were perfect. Showed you exactly like it was supposed to go. I also ordered a new fuel cap. I would definitely order from your company again.
