It is a genuine manufacturer-sourced component which is specially designed for use with Poulan and Husqvarna chainsaws. All saws are fitted with a decompression valve at the factory. When the valve is pressed in it reduces the pressure in the chamber to make the saw easier to start. The valve closes automatically as soon as the engine starts. This is an identical replacement for a missing or a faulty decompression valve that was installed on a new unit. Please make sure to refer to the appropriate diagrams of your model for the correct location and application of this part.
