This is an authentic Husqvarna replacement part manufactured for use with chainsaws. This special hand guard helps protect the user from kick back, but it is also the lever for the chain brake. This hand guard pivots forward to stop the chain, and back to allow the chain to run. The hand guard is sold individually.

I simply removed the clutch cover with my chain saw multi tool and used an Allen wrench to remove and install both allen screws that attached the hand guard to the saw body. Part was a direct OEM fit and installed it in less than 15 minutes.
