This is an original replacement part manufactured for use with Echo chainsaws. The metal flat spring fits into the clutch, to provide tension on the clutch shoes. The flat spring is a replacement part for repairing the clutch, although the clutch is itself a replacement part, the flat spring is sold individually.
Stuff nylon rope into the spark plug socket to prevent shaft rotation. Make a special tool to remove old drum-clutch. Drill 3 holes in a plate on a 5/8 diameter circle and press in 3/16 dowel pins in to make a 3 point spanner. Use a large wrench to turn the plate. removed pulley cover, removed nut on flywheel gently pryed off flywheel.then removed sparkplug and put peice of rope in cilinder to keep shaft from moveing while i taped clutch drum clockwise because of reverse thread on shaft,with a flat punch. there is a key pin on flywheel to line up when puting back on.there is a socket you can buy
