This replacement bar is specially manufactured for Dewalt and Black and Decker 8" chainsaws and pole saws. It is an authentic OEM part, not an aftermarket imitation. The bar is used to secure and guide the chain. It is made out of metal and it is sold individually. Replacing this bar is a simple task that should only require a screwdriver and a wrench set. • Release the chain tension • Remove the housing • Remove the chain and the tensioner • Remove the bar and replace it with a new one • Secure the tensioner and the chain • Reassemble the housing and tighten the chain

Loosened the bolts holding the bar cover and removed the bar and chain. Replace the bar and tightened chain and then tightened the bolts holding the cover on the bar.

Re-Installed Chain, checked tension.

It was simple. I removed the chain and chain bar. Next I removed the snap ring holding the drive sprocket. The assembly was the reverse of the disassembly order.
