Remove old switch from unit. In our case the pull chain inside the switch had broken, so only that part needed to be replaced. Removed the top portion of the switch which contains the power from the lower half (to be replaced). There is three tabs on the base which need to be pried out to separate it from the top. ... Read morever, carefully pry and pull the parts to separate each. The hardest part of this job was putting the fan back together. It took myself and another person to hold the light and feed the pull chain through the holes. Good luck.
