1. Opened the unit to remove the old belt (screwdriver)
2. Cleaned out all the old dust that has accumulated (nozzle is over 20 years old), dust cloth
3. Stretched the belt over the rotator (this does take some strength). It was my mother-in-law\'s vacuum and she could never had done it for herself as she is 85.
4. Close d the unit and turned it on...no problems!
