U-bolt For Classic Chests 7289

This OEM U-bolt is a fastener designed to secure a padlock with a shackle height ranging from 7/8 of an inch to 1 inch. It is commonly found on the front of your storage chest, near the latch or locking mechanism, and comes with two accompanying lock nuts. The U-bolt has a curved shape with threaded ends. To determine if the U-bolt needs replacement, inspect it for any signs of damage, wear, or corrosion. Pay attention to whether it feels loose or wobbly, as this may indicate a need for replacement. Also, check the condition of the nuts. To remove the U-bolt, unthread the nylon lock nuts, guide the U-bolt out of the two holes at the back of the lock housing, and slide it out from the front of the box. Please note that this U-bolt is sold individually, as your chest may require more than one.
