30 year old shindawa recoil starter assembly broke.
3 screws and brand new. They do not make machines like this anymore. This trimmer was handed down ( bought in 1984) and is stronger than anything on the market today. It\'s a beast and thank you for the part.

... Read morehat anymore. Thank you. All you need to do is remove the three screws from the old starter and remove it. Then install the new starter with the three screws , and you done.
Removed the pull rope assembly, it has 3 phillip head screws. Just make sure the gas tank strap stay connected to a bracket under the pull rope housing. Then apply the new housing and secure it with the 3 screws.
After 30 years this powerful trimmer is starting again..old starter recoil broke after all those years..new assembly delivered fast and super easy to install..three screws out..new assembly on..2 minuted..started right up..thanks
