This is an authentic Waring replacement part manufactured for use with blenders. The plastic jar adapter fits onto the blender base and has slots molded into it that secure the jar bottom. This jar adapter is sold individually, please see model diagram for additional parts.

This would have been relatively simple except that the coupler was on too tight for me to remove it so I had to hack it off. * Note that the coupler screws on to the motor shaft with a regular thread, not a reverse thread as is the case with most blenders. In any case, here are the steps:

From the inside, remove the 4 screws that hold the jar adapter.
5.install the new jar adapter and reverse other steps.
Had a little trouble unscrewing coupling from drive shaft but managed to loosen it.
It is a little difficult to loosen with pliers holding coupling in one hand a screwdriver in the other hand. But had someone else hold one side while I worked the screwdriver.
