Over time this rubber seal can get compressed or crack eventually requiring replacement. Please note this durable rubber seal is sold individually. I ordered a new seal for the blade assembly.
They sent it.
When it arrived, I unscrewed the blade assembly from the blender, removed and tossed the old seal, put on the new one and screwed the bottom back onto the blender jar.
Blender no longer leaks.
