No repair was needed, just replacement. The entire lid was replaced, not just the inner plastic removable lid. The new lid fits 100% better than the original. The inner plastic lid clicks into place firmly and the entire outer lid fits better and stays in/on much more solidly.
I threw away the old top component and replaced it with the new one. It could not have been easier. eReplacements told me that the top \"part\" was on back order, so I was amazed and pleased to receive it within a week.
