This is a genuine Black and Decker replacement blade assembly, not an aftermarket equivalent. This is the part of the blender that chops, blends or mixes the product that is put into the blender jar. Over time these blades will become dull or break requiring replacement. When replacing the agitator it is recommended to replace the sealing gasket as well. It has a tendency to compress and crack and cause the jar to leak at the bottom. Please note this blade assembly is sold individually.

... Read moreembly is easy to replace without tools, simply screw the base off the glass mixing jar, lift out the gasket, lift out the old blade assembly, drop in the new blade assembly, drop the gasket back in, screw the jar back onto the base and you\'re done. Good as new.

Body of blade assembly had a crack which caused leaking.
Unscrew the black bottom base and remove the old blade and gasket. Wash and dry the bottom base and install the blade then that gasket. Then screw the base back on to the jar.
I noticed a leak around the blade when ever we used the blender. So I know that you don\'t have to buy a new blender when there are replacement parts for good brands. Once the part arrived it was just a matter of taking the old out and putting the new in, it works wonderful.
