I was prepared to cut a slot in the head of the existing screw to remove it. I also bought a blade retainer washer in case I damaged the existing one while cutting the slot. I purchased a new socket with a 5/32\" hex bit for $4 and seated it deep into the existing screw, removing it easy. I was lucky to have such easy fix.
