Ball bearings are used to reduce friction between rotating parts, they experience constant wear from pressure, heat, vibration, and friction eventually requiring replacement to maintain peak performance. This bearing allows the lower backup bearing shaft to spin freely. This part is made of durable metal and it is sold individually.
