This is one of the special hinges that provide support for pulleys on the unit. Over time it may wear out or get damaged eventually requiring a replacement. To ensure the exact location and the correct installation of this component, check the appropriate diagrams of your model. One durable metal hinge is included. You will need a wrench set and a screwdriver to remove the old part and secure the new one.

Removed the old part and installed and adjusted the new one. Note: I used this part to repair a Rigid 14\" bandsaw which is not shown as an applicable model. The hinge and bracket are suitable for a Rigid with some minor modifications (spacer on the spindle to allow securing the wheel and replacement of the spindle nut and adjusting bolt to the correct size for the Porter Cable part.
Overall, satisfied with my purchase and very happy to have my bandsaw operational again at a reasonable price.
It\'s a shame the Rigid part is out of stock everywhere as it seems to be a very high fail item. I hope the Porter Cable part holds up better.

Unplugged the power
Removed blade
Removed upper wheel
Removed upper cabinet/wheel cover
Removed blade tensioning screw
Removed upper hinge.
Replaced parts in reverse order

\"Cast iron\" top wheel tab adjustment broken

Removed nut from top bandsaw wheel and removed wheel.
Removed wheel height adjustment threaded rod and spring.
Removed two screws and washers to remove cast iron part.
Removed broken cast iron adjustment and replaced with new one.
Reversed order of operation to complete repair.

Note when looking at m anual, parts were discontinued and was replace with complete parts as one part.

1 . Unplugged bandsaw
2 . Removed blade
3 . Removed the hub nut and upper wheel
4 . Removed the blade guards front and rear
5 . Removed upper wheel safety covers
6 . Lift out the tension adjustment assembly and move the components from the old hung to the new hinge assembly.
7 . Re-assemble the saw in t he reverse order making sure that all fasteners are tight.
8 . Install a new blade and adjust tension, tracking, and guides.
