This item is an authentic Milwaukee replacement part that has been OEM sourced to be used with band saws. The plastic fan fits onto the armature's drive shaft and is used to move air over the motor to prevent the motor from overheating. The fan can become damaged from the saw being dropped and the fan blades can snap off which could lead to other damage to the motor assembly. The fan is available as an individual replacement part.
