This is an authentic Milwaukee replacement part that has been sourced from the manufacturer to be used with band saws. The brush is used to transfer electricity to the commutator bars while the armature rotates. The brushes eventually wear down because of the contact with a moving part and can cause the motor to spark and stop running. This brush is a direct replacement of the original and is sold individually.
