Product Description

?

This band saw wheel tire is designed to fit 18-inch band saw wheels, providing reliable traction and stable support for the blade during operation. Its durable rubber construction helps maintain proper blade tracking while reducing vibration and operating noise for smoother, more accurate cuts. Replacing a worn, cracked, or hardened tire restores consistent blade alignment, improves cutting performance, and helps ensure safe, dependable operation. The tire can be installed on either the upper or lower wheel and is an essential wear item for maintaining optimal saw performance over time.

I boiled a pot of water. I put 1 tire in the boiling water, took the pot off the stove and then let the tire sit in the water for 5 minutes while it was off the stove. I then took it out of the water, dried it off. I clamped the tire to the wheel with a C clamp and put a small piece of scrap wood between the clamp and the tire so I wo uldn\'t damage it. With one side of the tire clamped to the wheel, I went around the wheel with a large screw driver stretching the tire onto the wheel. It fits really tight and like I read in other posts, I thought I had the wrong size tires sent to me at first. If you cant stretch the tires enough to get them on the wheel, just put them in boiling water longer.

1. Removed bandsaw wheel from bandsaw.
2. Removed old tire and cleaned wheel of any stuck pieces.
3. Using spring clamps, an extra set of hands and a flat nosed screwdriver mounted new tire in much the same way a bicycle tire is mounted to its rim. Prying actions and clamping or holding the tire in its new position until anot her bite could be made.
4. Tire is tough so it is not easy to install but two of us got it on in about 4 minutes.
5. Center tire properly on wheel.
6. Reinstall newly tired bandsaw wheel and test it with the blade properly installed.
7. My new tire did not change any of the tracking settings on my bandsaw. Good Luck

The tire that is now available from any source is made from ? It is white in color and doesn\'t stretch easily and then only a little bit. I broke the first belt when I tried to pre stretch it. I ordered a second belt from a different source but it was the same belt. Ugh!
I watched a lot of You Tube videos but they all used a belt that stretched more so it was an easy job. Heating the belt in water didn\'t help me at all.
I heated the belt in an oven to 400 degrees F. I wore thick leather gloves to handle it.
I clamped as much of the belt as possible to the rim and then used two philips screw drivers to pry the belt over the wheel on my bench. When you get two screw drivers about 6\" apart with the belt halfway on the wheel you can pound on the top of the screwdriver handle to get the belt all the way on the wheel. A helper would probably be a benefit. I used the flat side of a wood chisel to center the tire by pounding the other side of the chisel with a hard mallet.

I soaked the new tires in hot water for a while to make them more pliable. I removed the old tires. Then with the help of a neighbor, we stretched the new tires on. Adjusted the tracking. It\'s working great now.
