This is an Genuine Manufacturer Authorized replacement part used on Delta Band Saws. Ball bearings are used to reduce friction between rotating parts. The balls or rollers take the load and spin, distributing the weight evenly while the minimal contact area of the ball reduces friction. This reduces wear on the tool and allows it to run smoothly. Bearings experience constant wear when the tool is in operation from pressure, heat, vibration and friction. Because of this, many Bearings need periodic maintenance or replacement.

All screws require hex keys. The blade needs to be removed first. The upper bearing is easy to access. Simply remove the central retaining screw, remove the old bearing from the spindle, and replace with the new bearing. ... Read morele holder out and rotate it around until the bearing is in the right place. Once you are satisfied, replace the retaining screw.
The lower bearing requires that the table be removed from the trunion assembly. After that, it helps to lubricate the bearing and cool block adjustment screws because they have to be turned a lot. Remove the screw in the end of the spindle. Turn the bearing and cool block screws until you can separate the spacer that fits over the bearing spindle. Eventually, you can slide out the old bearing and slide in the new bearing. Return the adjustment screws to mid-position and replace the retaining screw (don\'t forget it must pass through the screw slide guide first). Replace the table and blade. Obviously, the bearings will need to be adjusted to a proper distance behind the blade. Most sources recommend 15 one-hundredths of an inch, but the 14 one-hundredths blade on my feeler gauge works just fine. If this looks confusing, it really helps to review the expanded parts diagram in the manual before getting started.

With the lower blade guide removed, now is the time to clean and lubricate the blade guide on the rail and the adjustment screws. Remove the screw from the adjusting link on the end of the bearing shaft. Pull out the bearing shaft to enable replacing the bearing. Reassemble all parts and reinstall on saw.

Remove bottom guide bracket (two lg straight slot screws) remove adjusting bracket nut, slip off sleeve retainer from shaft slide off old bearing and install new one and reverse the order for install.
