Screw was broke off at the edge of the reel.

I thought I had to drill out part of the old broke screw and drill and tap it on the side of the reel. After I drilled out the old broke screw with a drill bit to tap it for the new 3mm screw, the bit broke up the old screw and the threads were intact. No tapping involved. Just take your time and make sure your drill is straight on to the existing hole. The broke screw was broke apart by the drill bit. Maybe I got lucky. It worked out great and the reel works great.

Took out broken screw shaft. Saved the rubber O ring. Put it on the new screw after putting the screw through hole in the side plate. Then put reel back together.
