This replacement drag washer is specially designed for Shimano fishing reels. It is supplied directly from the original equipment manufacturer. It is an important component of the drag mechanism which applies tension on the line. If the fish pulls on the line hard enough, the reel will rotate backward, letting the line out and preventing it from breaking. Over time the material will wear out eventually requiring a replacement. Check the diagrams for your model to ensure the exact location and the correct installation of this component. You will need a screwdriver to take the reel apart when performing this repair. Keep in mind one durable drag washer is included.
