This is a genuine Metabo replacement carbon brush, designed to keep your power tools running smoothly. Each brush includes the holder and spring, and while they are sold individually, two are required for most tools. Carbon brushes are wear-and-tear items that naturally degrade over time due to friction. Replacing them can resolve issues like poor motor performance, intermittent operation, or reduced electric braking. Even if only one brush appears worn, it's best to replace both at the same time for optimal performance. Signs of wear include brushes that are worn down near the wire lead, or those that are cracked, pitted, or burned. When replacing brushes, it’s also a good idea to inspect the armature for any signs of damage, such as burns or cracks, which could indicate more serious motor problems.
