The electronic unit goes in the housing and is made of metal and plastic. It is an authentic OEM sourced item which is specially produced for use with Metabo grinders. This is available as an individual replacement part. A screwdriver and a nutdriver may be necessary during the installation of this item. Over time this part may break and will need to be replaced.

Removed the lower housing of the grinder. Made a wiring diagram of the switch and electronic unit. Disconnected old switch and electronic unit. By referring to the wiring diagram I reconnected the new switch and electronic unit .Replaced the lower housing. Then tested the grinder. Worked great.
