Product Description

?

This is a genuine manufacturer-supplied replacement which is specially designed for use with Metabo power tools. The purpose of a brush is to conduct the crurrent in an electric motor that powers the tool. Unfortunately, the material will wear out and it may cause intermittent performance eventually requiring a replacement. Keep in mind this high-quality brush is sold in a pack of two. When replacing carbon brushes, be sure to also inspect your armature for burns, cracks, or other damage which indicates a larger motor problem. Please refer to the appropriate diagrams and the owners manual for the exact location and installation of these components. Not sure if your carbon brush is causing your motor problems? See our power tool repair article: Whodunnit? The brushes or the switch?

Removed 3 screws holding the clam shell housing together using a Torx head screwdriver.
Remove both pieces of the housing from the frame of the grinder.
Using a small tip screwdriver, gently pry the spring clips up and over to the side, clearing the pathway of the brush holder.
Using small needle nose pliers, pull to rem ove the wire connector attaching the brush wires to the holders.
Pull the old brushes up and out of the holders paying attention to the orientation of the wire attached to the brush.
Insert the new brush into the opening of the holder making sure the wire is on the topside of the brush and in the same orientation as the old one removed.
Reposition the spring clips to hold the top of the brushes against the commutator of the rotor.
Attach the brush wires by pushing the wire connector back onto the tab of the holder.
