I removed the back housing of the grinder. I disconnected the brush terminals. Then lifted the brush springs up and pulled the old brushes out and put the new brushes in, then let the spring go in behind the new brushes. And connected the brush terminals. Then I put the back housing back on.
1.Remove left and right brush covers using a T-4 torx bit drive\\
2.Lift brush spring up and to the side with a small pick.
3. unplug and slide up out brush holder .
4. insert new brush in to brush holder using small pick reinsert bush spring reconnect wire.
5. repeat for other side

Grinder suddenly stopped. Had used frequently. Replacement expected
Youtube video specific to metabo grinders. Housing removed, carbon brush holders removed one at a time. Specific pattern for placement copied the brush that hadn\'t been removed. I would suggest removing one at a time so the other one can be used as a pattern.
