1.Remove brushes(so armature is able to slide out freely.
2.Remove 4 screws from \"safety clutch\" ( the thing you mount the cutting wheel on).
3.Remove 4 screws from gear housing. ( the head of the grinder , note longer screws)
4.Pull out armature ( gear housing will not come off until you undo the 3/8 nut inside housin

5.Once armature is out (head of grinder still attached) use 3/8 wrench and remove nut on bevel gear.(note , this is spring compressed so hold it tight.
6.Remove all contents , look up grinder specs for metabo @ metabo and you will be able to re align everything incase spring goes flying.
7.Notes : when removing armature dont pry off red piece .
also understand how shift lever sits into intermediate flange(red piece). it takes a little screwing around in order to hold spring,break,lever, armature, etc togethor with one hand, compressed enough to re attach nut back onto armature. it takes 10 to 15 times or have a second pair of hands available. but once you figure it out you will laugh.
