Unit began by not turning off without being banged on a hard surface. Then eventually it wouldn\'t start at all.

1. (Before removing any part if you are not familiar with the equipment make sure you mark the parts on both sides with a unique identifier and place and label all fasteners in separate plastic bags or containers.)
Removed the handle held in place with four Philips screws.
2. lifted the brush springs to one side to remove tens ion on the brushes.
3. lifted the brushes to clear the armature or rotor.
4. removed the gear box held with four Philips screws.
5. removed the baffle held in place with two Philips screws.
6. removed the armature or rotor.
7. lifted the plastic retainer holding the stator in place and taped hard on a concrete surface to jog the stator out of position.
8. Once the stator was flush with the housing I used two spacers and continued to encourage the stator to clear the housing.
9. Removed the switch button by pushing the button forward until it clicked free of the switch mechanism.
10. With the switch button removed the switch mechanism slide almost all the way out but had to be rotated 90 degrees to clear the retention mechanism.
11. installation was the reverse of disassembly with the exception of pressing the stator back into place. At this point a piece of 2\" PVC 4\" long was used to avoid damaging the stator windings. Smaller or larger diameter PVC may be needed for different models using a similar design.
