The first attempt at repair was very simple. The previous owner said the \"motor was not turning\". I took the tool apart and immediately found a small screw lodged by the actuator of the motor. ... Read more the motor was still was turning very slowly and tripping my circuit breaker. After ANOTHER disassembly, I saw that the screw that I had pulled out had caused damage to the actuator itself (deeper gouges in the copper than I had noticed before). There was clearly a short in the actuator, so I ordered a full assembly from eReplacementparts. After putting in the new actuator, tool works perfectly. So this took much longer than it should have taken, as i had to take everything apart twice. Also, the full motor assembly is the most expensive part to replace on any tool. Once this needs replaced, it may be cheaper to just buy a new tool. (but then you wouldn\'t be on this website reading repair stories if you were going to buy a new one!)
