This guard works fine. Minus a star for the following. No instructions. Dewalt makes a big deal about using this guard if you're using a cutoff wheel, and then provides almost no additional information. And you don't need the extra bolt that's a $1.99, at least on the Dewalt 40112 type 10.

I had to remove a spring clip that was designed for a different guard. After I took that off the new guard went on very easy. I used it to cut some metal later and it worked very good. I love it when things come together.

Nothing was wrong, just needed a different guard for cutting instead of grinding.
removed the cord end of the grinder .the black button had to be mashed to get it off. then remove the wires from the switch and remove the switch.then replace everything.
