This is an authentic DeWalt replacement part that has been sourced from the manufacturer for use with angle grinders. The carbon brush is used to relay electricity to the motor's armature assembly. The brushes press against a rotating part and wear down eventually through normal use. Worn brushes can cause the motor to smoke or emit sparks and this item can be used to replace the original. The brush/holder is sold as an individual replacement part, please note two may be required.
