1. Removed the old switch by prying it out of the switch box.
2. Noticed the new switch was different than the existing one. The existing switch box has an oversized stop flap that worked the switch that I removed. The new switch had the stop lever as part of the switch. Fixing the problem was relatively easy. I just removed the
... Read more switch box, pried off the stop flap, and used the table saw to remove the tabs from the box that held the stop flap.
3. Once the mods were made to the existing switch box, everything fit as it was supposed to. I reinstalled the switch box, inserted the new switch and reconnected the wires.
4. The repair was complete and everything worked as it was supposed to.
