It is secured over the grinding disk to protect user from the dust and chips while the grinder is used. This part is made out of durable clear plastic and it is sold individually. Please note the bracket and the hardware to secure this eyeshield is sold separately.

Just removed the threaded screw and nut and replaced the eyeshield. Reinstalled screw and nut, tightened and done!
