This is a manufacturer approved carriage bolt designed for use with bench grinders. It is used to secure brackets and the knob. The square area under the head is designed to fit into a square hole in the workpiece. It is this square hole that restrains the bolt and keeps it from turning when the nut is tightened. This bold is made out of metal and it is sold individually.
