Questions & Answers
The coffee is coming out very watered down.

Hi Frank,
Thank you for your question. If your coffee is watered down, there are 4 reasons for this. 1. You may not be using enough coffee. For every 6 ounces of water, use 2 Tbsp of coffee. 2. You may not be brewing the coffee long enough. Like tea, if the coffee is not allowed to steep for the proper length of time, you will have weak tasting coffee. For information on brewing time, you will need to consult the owner's manual for the coffee maker. 3. Make sure the water is heated correctly, so the coffee is not watered down. The ideal coffee brewing water temperature is around 195-205 degrees or about ~30 seconds off of the boil. 4. If your coffee maker is producing weak coffee, the coffee grinds you are using may be the wrong size. If the coffee grinds are too coarse of a coffee grind, then you will end up with weak tasting coffee. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
What one puts the water into. The seal is missing & when I remove to clean water runs all over. I would like to get a replacement for that seal. Is that possible?

I changed the large O rings. Coffee was working Ok but now noticed the water flow a lot faster and the coffee taste is not as strong. What could be wrong?

Hi Frank,
Thank you for your question. If you are finding that the coffee maker is overflowing, you may have to adjust the the nozzle or spout or you may either have a clogged filter or the coffee grinds are not the correct size. Adjust the nozzle or spout to see if this helps, if not thoroughly clean the coffee maker. Remove all of the coffee grinds, water and any left over coffee and then pour 3 cups of vinegar and 6 cups of cold water into the coffee maker and turn the brewing cycle on. After the first cycle, run the brewing process 2 more times with just cold water until the smell of vinegar is gone. Also clean the brew basket of any debris. If you have done all this and the water is still running too fast, then the filter will likely need to be replaced. Also make sure the size of the coffee grinds are correct for the method of brewing you are using. If it is still over flowing reduce the amount of cups you are brewing and this may correct the issue. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Milk was not frothing when steam nozzle was used
When using steam nozzle, steam appeared to be coming out of nozzle but milk was not frothing. Further investigation revealed that steam appeared to be leaking from top of removable nozzle. Looked at parts diagram on replacementparts website and realized that o'ring was missing (unsure of how it became dislodged and where it was). No tools needed to connect new o'ring and steam is working correctly.

Delonghi Magnifica leaked.
Could find nothing wrong but it still leaked after replacing o-rings. Finally determined that calcification on the condensate drain was allowing water to flow up the side then back down to the counter top. I cleaned it w vinegar, a toothbrush and dental floss. Not a drop on the counter now.

Not producing any frothed milk
Removed old o-rings with fingernails and replaced. It is not clear that the o-rings needed replacing or just the milk jug, but the o-rings alone did not fix the problem. Works like new now.

Espresso Machine Maintenance
I have had a couple of DeLonghi Espresso machines for 10+ years. The o-rings for the steamer function require replacement occasionally. I get these from eReplacementParts rapidly and at a good price.
