Pilot would not stay lit.
Turn off main gas line. Remove all logs and set aside. Remove ODS gas supply tube, piezo-electric ignitor wire, braided electic wire, and electrical connections (note color sequence of red and white wires), and then remove the mounting screws for the ODS pilot and remove the ODS. Assemble in reverse order. Fitting for the braided wire was the most difficult to access, just take your time. Follow pilot lighting instructions and you're done.

Screwdriver, Pliers, plastic over my white carpet to hold the dirty logs
The pilot wouldn't hold a flame even after putting on a new thermal couplet.
(1) I called a local repairman who told me that I couldn't just replace the couplet, but the entire assembly. He quoted me $150 for assembly plus $250 for labor since I live a distance from the parts shop in another state. (2) I wondered if I could find the part online and do it myself. (3) Your telephone attendant spent at least 20+ minutes with me trying to locate/match the part numbers. We never got a perfect match as stated by the manufacturer, but she assured me if the part didn't fit, it could be returned with me paying for the return postage. (4) So I took the leap of faith and ordered it at half the price compared with the shop's price. (5) The part sent worked perfectly.
I listed the repair as medium in difficulty because honestly I am a woman. I work much better with curling irons than screwdrivers. Ha-ha!

Fixed 14 year-old fireplace
The part arrived quickly and was an identical replacement. My 14 year-old propane gas log set would not stay lit. From my reading, I suspected the thermopile but the thermopile cannot be replaced by itself on this unit and the whole assembly needs to be replaced. Once I figured out the proper approach the repair went quickly. I strongly recommend approaching the unit from the bottom up by tilting the unit on its back. Fireplace has been working perfectly for two weeks now with daily use. The part is only half the price of having a technician come out and look at and clean the fireplace - any repairs would be on top of that. I'm no mechanical genius - anybody can do this repair with an adjustable wrench and phillips screwdriver. If after the installation the pilot will light but the burners will not, try reversing the red and white wires from the terminals as compared to how they were originally. For some reason I had to do it this way on mine.
