    I have a delta table saw model 36-600 type 2, it burns out brushes very fast, I would like to purchase a new motor (906297) but the price exceeds the value of the saw, are there any aftermarket motors or can you make a better price for yours?

    After replacing all the switches and breakers, finally removed and tested the old motor. It was well and truly dead. After much searching finally found the replacement model on ereplacementparts. Installed the new motor and felt great joy when it started right up. Much simpler operation than I expected.

    Disconnect power
    Remove table saw from the stand
    Remove guides and safety guards
    Remove saw blade
    Turn over and remove wires from switch and breaker rembering where they were connect
    Locate and remove three bolts from motor
    New motor came with new bolt
    Replete steps in opposite order

    Drilled out holes on motor bracket to match holes on table saw mounting bracket the new motor works great cutting 2 inch cherry wood. Very satisfied with the new replacement motor

    Removed the base legs from the saw. Removed the motor assembly. Out in the new motor assembly and put the legs back on. That's all! For all practical purposes I have a new saw!

    Removed old motor and replaced with new one.
    Pretty simple job if you're somewhat skilled in the realm of DIY.
    Toughest part was picking up and turning over the saw to access it from the underside.

    So far it's now working as it should.

    Motor no longer worked

    Screwdriver, Socket set, Wrench Set, Wire stripper and crimper. Torque wrench.

    Unplugged saw, removed blade insert and blade. Rotated motor to down position. Turned saw onto its back. Removed the four leg bolts and legs. Rotated saw to top down position. Removed wiring cover and disconnected motor wires. Removed three bolts securing the motor to the trunion and removed old motor. Installed the new motor with provided hardware (torqued bolts to specified torque for 5/16" SAE bolts. Connected wiring (note* connector for the white wire is not provided. You must install an insulated 90 degree female knife connector to complete the wiring). Reinstalled wiring cover. Reinstalled legs. Returned saw to upright position rotated motor to maximum height and installed blade. Turned saw on for 30 sec. to verify the installation. Adjusted trunion to align blade parallel to T-Track at 90 deg. vertical and 45 deg. angles. Installed new zero clearance insert per Mfg. instructions. Made test cuts to verify accuracy of cuts.

    Disconnected all electrical on front of saw. Took a picture of how wiring was hooked up. Removed the motor. Replaced the motor and reset the wiring. Hardest part was replacing the cover where motor and switch elements all feed into the power source. One guy can do this repair but two makes it much easier.
