Hello Jim, Thank you for your inquiry. A pressure washer shuts off when the pressure inside the pump increases higher than the engine pressure. Inspect the unloader valve to check for the dirt around the spring, stuck shaft, or worn-out O-rings. You need to disassemble the unloader valve for a thorough inspection.
