Fan is getting noisier. I took it down and cleaned fan. I plugged it in a house outlet and the motor oscillated in speed. It turned faster and slower but not at any set pace.

Hi Stephen, Thank you for your question. If the fan is getting noisy you may have worn motor bearings. If the motor shaft moves back and forth, then the bearings are worn and the motor will need to be replaced. You should also check to see if the blower wheel is rubbing up against the housing or if there is anything keeping it from turning. If you have any questions, please let us know.
