The chain underneath the planer that is connected to the height adjustment has come off and after reinstalling it the planer is very hard to adjust the height. So hard that it broke the handle and I have to use a pipe wrench and much force to get the adjustment screw to turn. I have already cleaned the four post and sprayed and loosened up each of the sprockets. Do you have suggestions.

Hello James, Thank you for the question. This sounds like a much serious problem since you have cleaned and lubricated everything that needed it. This is more than likely caused by a damaged or miss aligned gear or one of the post may have a slight bend it. I recommend you do the repair over again carefully inspecting everything and see if that makes a difference. I hope this helps and good luck with your repair,
