Hello Ron, thank you for contacting us. First, make sure the chainsaw has cooled. Then release the top cover clips and remove the top cover. Remove the wire and boot from the spark plug. Remove the nuts securing the clutch cover. Remove the cover, bar, and chain. Install the new chain by aligning it on the chain bar. Make sure the teeth on the chain are facing the front end of the chain bar on the top and away from the front end on the bottom. Loop the chain onto the clutch sprocket and align the chain bar on the mounting bolt. The tensioner will need to be inserted into the hole on the chain bar. You will probably need to rotate the tension adjustment screw counter clockwise to properly align the tensioner. With the cover in place hand tighten the nuts. Now lift the bar and tighten the tensioner screw until there is no slack in the chain. Fully tighten the nuts on the cover and make sure the the chain is tight. Replace the wire and boot on the spark plug and the top cover. We hope this helps.
