Hello RT, thank you for your question. It may be that the motor has overheated. If after charging the battery you are still experiencing the problem, then it may indicate a fault with either the battery or charger (part 90616337). The defective item will need to be replaced. Motor started smoking after I trimmed 5 large bushes. Waited for the motor to cool and replaced with fresh battery. Trimmer doesn't start at all. Does the motor need replacement and what's the cost if it does?
