Hello Charlie, Thank you for your inquiry. To change the grease filter, remove the four (4) screws that secure the cover. Take off the metal grid/cover and take off the metal wires. Remove the grease filter, secure the new one in place, and reassemble the unit. You can try cleaning the inside of the unit very carefully with a cleaning agent or hot soapy water with a mild detergent and a clean soft cloth, making sure not to get any of the cleaner near the electrical wires and you can clean the grease filter with a warm detergent solution.
