The lower handle was broken

I removed the handle and disassembled it into its two component pieces. I attached the new lower handle to the base of the mower. It was easy to reattach the upper handle to the new lower handle. The replacement part fit perfectly. To be able to find the part to repair a 23 year old mower is great. Thank you for your service.

Bottom handle rotted out at end of handle attaching to mower.

Took bottom part of handle off mower and top part of handle.
Attached bottom half with bolt and cotter pin to mower.
Screwed bottom half to top half of handle.
Pulled rope and engine worked like a champ.
