These are cheap enough to replace both at the same time, which would eliminate that ôOh Crapö feeling when you have changed the obviously damaged one and find that the other is in rough shape.

The pivot\'s guiding arc was damaged and would not allow joiner to open/close.
1. Removed left and right screws, releasing the plate.
2. Replaced the old left pivot with the new pivot.
3. Replaced left and right screws.
Luckily, ereplacementparts had the left pivot in stock. Other websites indicated the part was obsolete and unavailable
Removed bad part.
Determined exact part from parts list and ordered.
Pivot is part of the guide channel the plate pivots in but is also a surface mount cap.
Reinstall plate in position.
Reinstall left pivot with 2 screws. easily accessible.
Done.
