The screw holding the chuck has reverse threads. Remove the chuck screw. Place the transmission in low gear and in the drill mode. Insert the short end of the largest allen wrench that will fit into the chuck, then tighten the chuck up. Place the drill on its side . Then strike the allen wrench with a hammer. It will loosen the chuck from the spindle. Remove the old chuck and thread on the new chuck hand tight, and screw in the chuck screw.
