This infinite burner switch, also commonly known as a surface element control switch is a genuine OEM replacement part used in electric ranges/cooktops. It is 240V and designed for an 8-inch surface element. The switch controls the heating of the surface element and turns it on/off as needed. If you have noticed that your range is not heating at all, or it is overheating, and you have difficulties switching off the appliance, then you will likely need to replace the burner switch. Disconnect the range from the power source to before beginning the repair. Pull off the control knob and detach the back panel to access the switch. Disconnect the wire connectors from the old switch and remove the screws that hold it in place. It is recommended to take a picture of how the wires are routed for the installation. Place the new burner switch in the mounting position and reconnect the wires to the new switch. Secure it with the appropriate fasteners and reattach the back panel. Place the control knob back on and reconnect the range to the power source.
