This is an identical replacement for a missing or a damaged hood cover that was installed on a new unit. It is designed to attach to the rail. Nutdriver, Allen keys

Remove stopper at the back end of the nail rail
At this point easier with 2 people.
Pull old hood cover out, careful of the power spring
Remove the nail clip from the old hood and reinsert into the new one
Attach power spring
Reassemble in reverse.

The plastic rail that held the hood cover on broke and sent the hood flying as the tension spring let go.

Screwdriver, Socket set, Allen wrenches

Remove the clip, spring, pin and nail pusher from the old hood and install them on the new hood. Remove the two Allen screws with lock nuts that hold the plastic magazine end cover on and remove it. Roll the nail retainer spring to the rear of the magazine and slide it into the slot of the new hood. Insert the new hood into the tracks of the nail magazine and let it slide forward. Replace the magazine end cover and your done.
